oakland noir launch party

The newest Noir short story collection from Akashic Books, edited by Jerry Thompason and Eddie Muller, will be released on Tuesday April 4. There will be an event at the African American Museum in downtown Oakland (659 14th Street, Oakland) at 6:30pm to celebrate the launch featuring readings by the authors and a discussion with the editors. I'll have additional photos that I shot for this project on display during the launch. Other events this month celebrating the book include a reading at Books Inc Alameda on Thurs 4/13, and an event at City Lights on Tues 4/25.

divine gardens due out fall 2017

I'm pleased to announce that a trade edition of Divine Gardens: Mayumi Oda and the San Francisco Zen Center will be released this fall! As managing editor at Missing Links Press in San Francisco, I've worked on this project since its inception, and I'm pleased to announce our partnership with Parallax Press of Berkeley for the trade release. This book will be able to reach a national audience through Parallax's distribution partnership with Penguin Random House.
